My parents came to visit this week, and we visited many of the places that I’ve already written about. However, we did hit one place that I haven’t been to yet: The Filoli mansion, which is where they used to film the 80s drama Dynasty.

Trip to Monterey and Carmel
Monterey and Carmel-by-the-sea are two tourist traps that are within 5 miles of each other, so we set out today to visit both of them in one swing.
Monterey is a super-touristy town. It boasts as attractions the Old Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We arrived in Monterey roughly at mid-morning, and parked near the wharf.
Another SF tour — and they keep getting better
On July 8th I had another couple of friends arrive, so come the 9th it was out to San Francisco again. We decided to explore the guts of the city on the 9th, and then hit some of the peripheral attractions on the following Wednesday.

July 4th in San Francisco
Nathan and I spent July 4th touring around San Francisco. We tried to hit as many of the neighbourhoods that I thought we’d find interesting, and because Nathan is generally more curious than I, we stumbled across a few things that I hadn’t noticed in them before.
